Session Summary:
The agenda will build on previous social investment presentations to AFM members looking more closely at who else is investing in the space, the options available across the market and going a step closer to the front line of impact investing.

Speakers:

Mark Bickford, CEO, Social & Sustainable Capital (‘SASC’)
Mark has spent the last 10 years in UK social investment, the last five of those at SASC focussed on funding housing for vulnerable people. Prior to this Mark spent 25 years in mainstream finance lending to UK SMEs. He is also a NED of Brook Aspire, a sexual health and wellbeing social enterprise.

Rachel Webb, NED, SASC
Rachel has 20 years’ experience in commercial businesses and large audit & accountancy practices and from 2020 to 2024 she was the Chief Executive at Foresters Friendly Society. Prior to joining Foresters, Rachel was with Smith & Williamson LLP, where she was a statutory Director of one of the group’s subsidiary companies and a Senior Statutory Auditor. Rachel has a BSc in mathematics from Imperial College, London and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
